Screen Printing
Screen printing is a process that involves developing a screen, and printing by pushing ink through the gaps with a squeegee. The screen has some areas that let ink through and some that block the ink. by letting only a set amount of ink through the developed areas, the print is made.

Due to time constraints, we were unable to develop and create our own screens, and used some pre-made screens to experiment and learn about the screen printing process.

We mixed a fluid with the acrylic paint which made it easier to work with, and made it dry slower, meaning it would be harder for us to mess up the screens.

This print is the better/version i made after. After the first print, i learned how to screen print decently and printed this one.
This is another version of the prints above, and it is done in newsprint instead.

Different screen, printed on the good paper
Same screen, newsprint

MASK PRINTS

One of the screens above used, but newsprint was used to mask out some areas.
It has a cool effect.
As everything is so perfect, the mask immediately stands out as something intentional

Colored ink screen prints

Using color makes it look different. Wether it is better or worse will depend on the situation.

For example, if the print was used with others to create a color harmony, color would be better.

But as a standalone piece, black and white is more dramatic.

NOTE: for the blue one, someone before me probably wanted to merge two color prints together (red+blue) so the print has traces of the red.
Color paper

Colored paper along with colored prints looks much better than colored prints on paper on newsprint. unfortunately, i didn't think to create really satisfying color combinations at the time.
When trying to print in blue, the same thing happened to me again (red print from previous user transferred onto mine).

It was unintentional, but it looks really cool. Especially how the blue is also kind of faded so it looks intentional.

Collage!

These two are my favorite. This is because it was a choice i made, not just something that was pre-made. It allowed me to make choices that would either make it look worse or better. But it felt like something i made (although the image itself isnt mine haha)
